Kelso dominates Districts with eight champs and a team title

The Kelso girls wrestling team spent all season getting ready for the moment when it really mattered. That day where you’ve got to win and win some more, or your season is over.

And all that hard work, all that travel, and all of those grueling weekends at some of the top tournaments west of the Rocky Mountain range paid off last Saturday when the Lassies ran away with the District IV Championship.

Kelso sent 13 wrestlers to the finals, with eight champions in the mix. All told, 17 Lassies punched their ticket to the Mat Classic state wrestling tournament, with two others earning a trip to Tacoma as alternates.
