Red Devils not ready to panic, yet

The problem with winning your first 11 games of the season is that it sets an unrealistic standard for the rest of the campaign. So when the Lower Columbia College men’s basketball team wound up going 2-3 over its last five games it was only natural to wonder if it’s time to hit the panic button.

According to LCC head coach Mickey Polis the answer to that question is a resounding no. Even after a 61-47 loss at South Puget Sound on Saturday, the Red Devils still believe they’ve got what it takes to be among the last teams standing at the end of the season

And if that’s true, they’ll certainly be more thoroughly battle tested than the opening jaunt of their schedule would’ve led Red Devils fans to believe.

“We’re just going through a tough little stretch,” Polis told BZM. “I do think our league is very good this year. I think it’s as good as it’s been in quite awhile. There’s a lot of sophomore talent. Any given night you’ve got to be ready to play.”
