Red Devils Roundup: LCC baseball, softball wrap regular season with wins
NWAC Updates – Lower Columbia softball still undefeated; and more LCC news

By Rick McCorkle For Blast Zone Media
A four-game sweep of the Pierce Raiders during the past weekend helped the top-ranked Lower Columbia College baseball team close out its regular-season in fashion with a new single-season win mark as the Red Devils rest and prepare for the postseason.
LCC (44-4 overall, 22-2 in region play), which also won the West Region title, has a bye until the opening round of the Northwest Athletic Conference Baseball Championships, which will be contested during May 22-26 at David Story Field. The Devils' 44-win total surpassed the old mark of 42 wins set during the 2006 season.
The LCC softball team also closed out its regular-season in style with doubleheader sweeps of Mount Hood and Centralia. The Red Devils, who have won all 43 of their contests, begin play in the NWAC Softball Championships beginning Thursday through Sunday in the Owens Sports Complex at Portland's Delta Park.
