The Lower Columbia College softball team, ranked first among teams in the Northwest Athletic Association, is closing in on making history.

LCC (35-0 overall, 22-0 in South Region play) is four victories away from setting the school-record for consecutive wins. In 2002, the Red Devils lost their fourth game of the season, and bounced back to roll-off 38 straight victories en route to the NWAC Championship and a 41-1 record.

The Red Devils kept doing their thing last week, sweeping doubleheaders from Grays Harbor, Clark and Clackamas in region play.
