It took a couple of matches each for the Lower Columbia College women's soccer and volleyball teams to get their footing before sailing into the win column during non-league play in August.

Last week the LCC volleyball team fell to sixth-ranked Treasure Valley, but swept Blue Mountain on an Eastern Oregon tour.

Meanwhile, the soccer team has been busy working behind the scenes during a gap in the schedule. Those Red Devils picked up their first win of the season last week at the NWAC Friendlies.
