This Day In History

• Nov. 7, 2003: R.A. Long downs Mark Morris 35-7 behind one last standout performance by Adam Perry under center. The Jacks’ quarterback went 18-for-26 for 238 yards, including a pair of touchdown passes to Luke Fowler, finishing the season with 2,371 passing yards and 24 touchdowns to break his own single-season records. Perry ended his record-setting high school career with 5,582 yards and 50 touchdowns. Tom Schroeder, whose records Perry broke — throwing mostly to Kyle Fowler (Luke’s father) — was in attendance at Longview Memorial Stadium for the performance.
  “I couldn’t have been overtaken by a better player,” Schroeder said. “... You don’t mind seeing a kid like that break your records.”
  Senior Jonah Hobson had seven catches for 54 yards, extending his single-season receptions record to 68 and breaking the RAL single-season yardage record with 836.
