This Day In History
Jan. 12, 1990: Eric Stokes buries a short baseline shot with 4 seconds left on the clock to hand Mark Morris a 53-51 win over R.A. Long. The Monarchs controlled much of the game, but went 15-for-31 from the free-throw line to let the Jacks stay in it, and RAL sophomore Justin Larson finally capped a comeback with a game-tying bucket as the clock wound down in the fourth quarter. Stokes finished with 14 points to lead the Monarchs, while twin brother Jeff had 12 points and 10 rebounds. R.A. Long’s Steve Rooklidge led all scorers with 17 points.
