Mar. 9, 1974: The R.A. Long boys basketball team lays claim to the 2A District title with a 69-58 win over Timberline at Kelso. Dean Hawley led the Lumberjacks with 14 points despite getting into foul trouble early, while Kirk Morris and Guy Hamer both scored 12 and Jerry Dickson added 11.
“Tonight we experienced all the things we have wanted to do all year,” RAL coach Duane Magee said.
