This Day In History
May 7, 2004: Miles Johnson goes 7-for-7 at the plate across Clatskanie’s doubleheader route of Portlant Christian — the Tigers won 12-2 and 21-2 — including hitting for the cycle with an extra home run to boot in the second game. Johnson’s ninth and 10th home runs of the spring gave him the Clatskanie single-season record. Kyle Sloderbeck also had seven hits on the afternoon, and Brian Witt, Brandon Hill, and Max Byrum both slugged homers.
“It was just one of those days where everything they put up there, we pounded,” Clatskanie coach Kevin Moffat said.
