This Day In History
Dec. 4, 1993: The Rainier boys basketball team trails at the end of each of the first three quarters before turning things around in the fourth to beat Astoria 82-78 in comeback fashion.
“Our kids like to run, and so did they,” Rainier coach Elmo Wise said. “They like to push it up the floor, and that’s just the kind of game we wanted to play.”
Tony Trotter led the Columbians with 27 points, Jesse Stowell chipped in 20, and Eric Poorman came a whisper away from a triple-double with eight points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.
