This Day In History
Jan. 13, 2014: The R.A. Long boys basketball team combines grit with a bit of luck, overcoming a double-digit deficit to upset 2A No. 5 Hockinson 59-58 in the Lumberdome.
“It’s one of the biggest wins we’ve had here in quite some time,” RAL coach Rally Wallace said.
The Lumberjacks trailed by 10 in the third quarter but came back, leading by as many as five points late. Up by two points with 17 seconds left, RAL fouled Hockinson on a 3-pointer, but the Hawks hit just one of the three ensuing free throws to keep the Jacks in front.
R.A. Long got double-digit scoring outputs from four separate players, with Bryce Eisele leading the way with 14 points, Brady Hulings scoring 13, Payton Miller scoring 11, and Morgan Baker adding 10.
