This Day In History
Jan. 21, 1988: Carol Smith comes off the bench in a big way for the Mark Morris girls basketball team, leading the Monarchs to a 58-55 overtime win over Hudson’s Bay in Greater St. Helens Conference action. Smith was pressed into full-time service when starting point guard Erin Walling fouled out in the third quarter, and scored 10 of her 17 points between the fourth and OT. Michele Hayes led the Monarchs with 19 points and 14 boards.
