he Chinooks proved their hot start to the season isn’t a fluke by sweeping 25-13, 25-18 and 25-20 on Saturday at Ted M. Natt Court.

It was a whiplash result for a group of Monarchs that won a five-set thriller over Woodland on Thursday to open 2A Greater St. Helens League play.

“Today was not our day. We simply made too many errors to compete,” Mark Morris head coach Carmen Hewitt said.

Meanwhile, Storedahl and Capen each posted 10 kills to lead the Kalama attack. Storedahl added nine digs and two aces to her sheet, while Capen posted eight digs and a solo ace.

Jacey Hutchinson dished 31 assists for the ‘Nooks, and Sophia Trevino added a half dozen kills to go with one stuff block. Ady Davenport anchored the defense with 13 digs and a 2.2 scores on her serve receive work.

“We are so balanced on offense and defense,” Clark noted after a win earlier in the week.
