This Day In History
Feb. 2, 2008: The Kelso girls basketball team trails for basically the entire game, but nudges over the line first against Hockinson for a 49-48 non-league win thanks to a pair of Sadie Salte free throws with four seconds left. Salte finished with 16 points and five boards to lead the Hilanders, while Carly Perkins had 10 points, six rebounds, and a pair of assists.
That Day In History
Feb. 1, 1977: The Toledo boys basketball team spots Winlock an early lead and doesn’t pull even until the end of the third quarter, but goes off for a massive fourth period to win 77-67. Tied at 51-51 entering the final period, Toledo dropped 26 points, including going 16-for-22 from the free-throw line, in the final stanza. Bryce Reynolds scored 20 points to lead the victors, with Nick Anderson behind him on 18 and Lane Castle scoring 16, while Pat Voie led Winlock with 20 points of his own.
