Mar. 12, 2010: The Mark Morris boys basketball team assures itself a trophy in Yakima with a 50-46 win over West Valley (Spokane) in a loser-out matchup at the 2A state tournament. MM blew a seven-point lead late in the fourth quarter, but Sean Atkins put the Monarchs ahead with 53 seconds left on a lay-in, and after a defensive stop, Dalton Thacker hit a pair of free throws. Atkins finished with a team-leading 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Thacker added 15 points.
