This Day In History
Oct. 23, 1964: Aberdeen dominates the second-half stats and closes a 20-6 halftime deficit to just two points, but Kelso’s defense holds strong on four straight plays inside its own 5-yard line in the final minute, stopping the Bobcats and fourth-and-goal from 6 inches out to win 20-18. Dave Soyars put the Hilanders up on the second play from scrimmage with a 63-yard touchdown run and added another score before his night was done. Tom Jepson scored the other Kelso touchdown, on a 3-yard keeper.
