This Day In History
April 9, 1986: The Kelso baseball team erases a two-run deficit in the final two frames to walk off 4-3 winners over Hudson’s Bay, with Dan Dalen singling home Hogie Rabideau for the game-winner. Trailing 3-1 after five innings, the Hilanders pulled back a run in the bottom of the sixth. In the bottom of the seventh, Kelso loaded the bases on a pair of singles and a walk; Dave Findley tied the game with a sacrifice fly, and Dalen proceeded to end it.
“We came up with a great effort in the last inning,” Kelso coach Dave Carpenter said. “The kids played like they can play.”
