This Day In History

• Feb. 5, 1982: Sophomore Eric Swanson piles up 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Castle Rock boys basketball team to a 72-61 win over Winlock, clinching the Rockets a spot in the district tournament.
  “I just can’t say enough for that kid,” CR coach Don Misner said. “He’s just a good, solid all-around player.”
  Jim Moore added 20 points for the Rockets and Scott Varner had 17, while Neil Williamson dished out 11 assists. Ken Stone dropped a game-high 23 points for the Cardinals.
