This Day In History
Mar. 17, 1976: The Clatskanie baseball team explodes for seven runs in the top of the sixth inning in Cathlamet, which is enough to both turn a one-run deficit into a 9-3 lead and to drag the proceedings out long enough for darkness to take effect, giving the Tigers a shortened win. Going into the sixth down 3-2 — all of the runs prior were scored in the first two frames — Clatskanie ran away with the lead with a triple, two doubles, two singles and four walks. Scot Campbell went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles for Clatskanie, and Vern Elliot and Pat White both went 2-for-3.
