This Day In History
May 8, 1995: Keith Kollman hits a home run to right field in the sixth inning which proves to be the game-winner in Naselle’s 7-6 victory over North Beach. The result is coach Kevin Heimbigner’s 300th win in charge of the Comets. Naselle caps the day off with a 14-4 win in the second game of the doubleheader — complete with homers by Kollman, Travis Pakenen, Luke Johnson, and Sean Eastham — to seal the Pacific B League title.
That Day In History
May 7, 2002: Castle Rock’s Savannah Morain strikes out six and scatters five hits in a complete game shutout, leading the Rockets to a 1-0 win over Kalama. South of that, Tanya McPherson walked a similar tightrope to similar success, punching out four to lead Kelso to a 1-0 win over Columbia River.
