WOODLAND – Perhaps no team in all The Blast Zone has shown more rapid improvement this season than the Beavers. After starting the season off with four straight losses, including a pair of sweeps, Woodland has now won three of four contests in convincing fashion.
On Tuesday night in the Ol’ Forest City, the Beavers made Mark Morris their latest victim with a sweep in 2A Greater St. Helens League. Playing host for the day, Woodland dispatched Mark Morris by scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-14 at The Den.
That victory avenged a five-set loss to the Monarchs at Ted M. Natt Court back on Sept. 11, and served as another assertive step toward a postseason run.
“We’ve been pretty close, and at their tournament a couple weeks ago we also lost to them in three (best of three match),” Woodland head coach Kendall Rohrer said. “In athletics there’s the whole rule of three thing, so we were pretty hopeful going in.”
