This Day In History
Oct. 27, 1961: Mark Morris earns its first crosstown victory ever over R.A. Long, coming back from a five-point deficit with a 70-yard scoring drive in the final four minutes to win 20-19. The Monarchs took the lead with 25 seconds left when Dan Ward took the handoff on a reverse and came up firing, hitting quarterback Dave Mason for a 12-yard touchdown — and MM’s only completion of the night.
That Day In History
Oct. 26, 2011: Blaine Land pounds out 28 kills to lead Wahkiakum’s attack in a tight 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 25-23 win over Toutle Lake. Tori Wegdahl added 20 kills, and Brieanna Olsen dished out 50 assists.
