This Day In History
Sept. 18, 2014: The Toledo girls soccer team plays nearly two full scoreless halves, but gets the one goal it needs thanks to freshman Amya Thomasson, four minutes from full time to beat Onalaska 1-0. Thommasson’s winning shot went through a crowd and pinged off both posts before finally trickling over the goal line.
“We’d kick it anywhere except in the goal,” Toledo coach Horst Malunat said. “But it worked out.”
