May 28, 2003: Woodland senior Tara Ward makes the final attempt of her high school career count in a big way, taking the 2A state title in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 8 ¼ inches.
“Her last jump was perfect,” Woodland coach Steve Hansen said.
