This Day In History
Sept. 30, 1960: Kelso trails Hoquiam 7-6 going into the final quarter, but rips off 19 unanswered points in the fourth to win 26-7. The Hilanders took advantage of a short field after a shanked punt and took the lead on a 10-yard pass from Bill Manly to Scott Miller, with the two linking up again on the two-point conversion. Jim Sutherlin put the game on ice with a 2-yard touchdown with 2:30 to go, and Manly came away with an 85-yard pick-six as time expired for good measure.
