• Sept. 16, 1994: The defenses have just about all the fun in Rainier’s 7-2 win over Estacada, with the Columbian’s defensive touchdown — on Bora Lam’s fumble recovery in the end zone — outweighing the Rangers’ safety. Rainier’s unit also came away with four interceptions, though the offense turned the ball over twice inside the 10-yard line.

“A good defense wins ballgames,” Rainier coach Dan Acker said. “And ours showed it tonight.”
