This Day In History
Dec. 19, 2013: The Kalama girls basketball team earns its third win in as many nights, capping the gauntlet with a 59-23 win over Toledo in Southwest 1A Trico Division play.
“I’m glad we have that schedule over with,” Kalama coach Brynan Shipley said. “It was tough, and we had scheduled it that way. … But we made it through successfully.”
Kaelyn Shipley had 14 points to lead all scorers and added six rebounds, while Parker Esary had eight points, 15 boards, and five steals. As a defensive unit, the Chinooks forced 32 turnovers out of Toledo.
