That Day In History
Feb. 15, 2021: The weirdness of the winter 2021 season — as sports return from the COVID-19 pandemic — means football in February, and Toledo celebrates the moment with a 16-12 win over Rainier (Wash.) on a snow-blanketed Ted Hippi Field in the area’s first game in 14 months. Davin Kinsman and Trey Rego scored Toledo’s two touchdowns and combined for 128 yards of tough sledding in the snow banks.
“It was fun,” Rego said. “It was something that everybody always wished [to do], seeing the Packers and Lions do it as kids, and they always wanted to live that dream.”
