This Day in History
Mar. 30, 1970: Roger Karnofski hits a go-ahead double in the bottom of the sixth inning, and Bruce Jacobsen slams the door in the top of the seventh to give the Kelso baseball team a 6-5 win over Battle Ground. Jacobsen gave up three runs in the first two innings, but the Scotties came back with a run in the third and three in the fifth, including back-to-back triples by Mike Dalen and Pat King. After the Tigers leveled the score at 5-5 in the top of the sixth, Hank Jones drew a walk and stole second to set Karnofski up for his clutch knock.
That Day in History
Mar. 29, 2003: Mark Makinster and Joe Geehan smack back-to-back doubles to put Toledo on the board off the bat, and Toledo rolls to an 8-0 win over Toutle Lake in Southwest Washington 1A League South Division play. Geehan hit another RBI double in the sixth inning, and also teamed up with Jeff Caley to fire a five-hit shutout on the mound.
