This Day In History
Feb. 7, 1995: Castle Rock comes back late, but Ilwaco pulls away for good in the final two minutes for a 71-67 Trico League win on the coast, snapping the Rockets’ 10-game winning streak. Nick Oman led the Fishermen with 25 points, Bryce Ford scored 18, and Brent Barker added 16 — 14 of which came in the first half as Ilwaco built out a 16-point lead at the break. That lead wouldn’t last, though, when CR’s Neal Kandoll opened the third quarter with three quick 3-pointers to close the gap. Chad Mitchell had 19 points for the Rockets to go along with eight assists, seven rebounds, five steals, and a pair of blocked shots, while Bob Lowe logged 19 points, five boards, and five assists.
