This Day In History
Nov. 5, 2010: The scoring ends with just over eight minutes left in the fourth quarter on a 2-yard touchdown and two-point conversion by Willie Fujioka, but that doesn’t equal the end of the drama in Mark Morris’ 20-18 crossover week win over Centralia. The Tigers worked their way into the red zone before the Monarchs forced a turnover on downs. After MM punted the ball back, Centralia tailback Zack Baldwin — who finished with 258 rushing yards on the day — broke free for what looked to be a go-ahead 78-yard touchdown, only for Taylor Van Dyke to make a game-saving tackle with a minute left. MM’s Zach Tackwell came up with a key sack on third down, and the Monarchs got one more stop on fourth down to earn the win.
