This Day In History

• Oct. 17, 2003: Down one on the last play of the game, Kelso quarterback Cort Carpenter unloads a Hail Mary from his own 47-yard line that Jesse Grewelle somehow comes down with … only for R.A. Long’s Adam Perry and Jonah Hobson to tackle him just feet in front of the goal line to seal the Lumberjacks’ 13-12 win over the Hilanders at Schroeder Field. It’s RAL’s first win in the Battle of the Plaid in 23 years, and their first win at Kelso since 1971.
