This Day In History
Oct. 6, 1961: Toledo rolls to a 31-0 win over Tenino, posting its fourth consecutive shutout to open the season. Charles Brunner scored the first three touchdowns for Ted Hippi’s squad, running in scores from 18 and 9 yards out, with a 78-yard pick-six between them. Jim Hinkley scored on a 40-yard hook-and-ladder to make it 25-0 before halftime, and Ralph Webb dove in from 2 yards out in the third quarter to finish the scoring.
That Day In History
Oct. 5, 1990: Aaron McCoy rushes for 171 yards and scores three touchdowns — two rushing, one receiving, all 40 yards or longer — to power Woodland to a 27-7 win over Rochester, giving the Beavers their first win of the season.
